July 19th, 2007200 Comments!
Okay, so this is a pretty small number for most of the sites out there, but I couldn’t resist.
It’s taken nine months but, as of this morning, there are 272 posts and 205 comments. The 200th comment came in just past midnight from Ms. Danielle on the post about Microsoft’s Evilness. So, to thank the top three commentators on this site (three is one of my two favourite numbers), I thought I’d share a little link love.
Brian over at Liftport.com has offered some well informed comments on my posts regarding the space industry, and has even helped solve my little problem with the Full Windsor Knot. He works with some of the coolest technologies on the planet, being space elevators, and I look forward to October 27th, 2031, which is the target date for the first functional lift.
Nick Ramsay (aka Spud Oregon) writes for two blogs when he’s not running around getting things ready for his first-born (due any day now!). Nice4Rice is a fun site that provides reviews and rants on web technology, internet marketing, and just about everything else. His other site, LongCountdown.com, is used to discuss his thoughts on Japan, teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) and his upcoming responsibilities as a father. Not too long ago I found out that Nick lives in the same city that I’ll be moving to next month, which turned out to be quite a surprise considering the lack of foreigners in that area of Japan.
Ms Danielle, the lucky winner of Comment 200, runs a blog that discusses everything from Google to PayPerClick to AdSense to her cute little Binky. Her posts tend to reflect what many blog authors strive to achieve, as they’re written in an intelligent conversational tone and just fun to read. In only five months, Ms Danielle has gained a huge reader base and has shot up the ranks of Technorati and Alexa to the point where she could soon take on the likes of John Chow
At the current rate, this site might hit 500 comments in the early months of 2009. As the number gets closer, I might just hold a contest offering some sweet prize to whoever hits that big round value. Perhaps by then, Apple will have an iPhone Shuffle … ’cause people might just enjoy calling a random person in their contact list ![]()

Thanks Jason, and congratulations on hitting the 200 mark! I think little Binky is Ms. Danielle’s lucky charm. First the Zune, and now this… you just know she’ll answer the phone when you make that random call from your iPhone Shuffle!
