Reiko on a Beach CruiserDuring our vacation last year, Reiko and I rented some beach cruiser bikes and made our way around downtown Victoria on the lovely Vancouver Island.  What I enjoyed most about the afternoon, aside from spending time with my Reiko-chan, was the smooth ride and exceptional comfort these bicycles offered.

Like many kids, I spent most of my summers outside with friends, often biking from one place to the next.  First with BMX’s, then mountain bikes.  The problem I had with these two designs was the discomfort that came from an extended ride.  This was even more noticable at the start of the nice weather as we hadn’t been on our bikes for months.  However, after using the beach cruisers for more than four hours in Victoria, neither Reiko or I had any discomfort problems and we enjoyed the rest of our day without feeling like our legs were made of rubber.

If only I had known about beach cruisers in my youth ….

Shortly after the vacation ended, I started looking for a place to purchase a beach cruiser to ride around Vancouver.  Unfortunately, the cruisers that were available were either of low quality, or priced way outside what an average person would pay.  Luckily, there is another option available.

XYZBikes.com offers a full line of new beach cruiser bikes for the entire family at respectable prices.  If you’ve been looking for a great beach cruiser, then now is the time to pick one up.  Several cruisers are on sale for $88, and they can be shipped to you anywhere in North America and even Europe.  Shipping is expensive when going over-seas, but looking at the cost savings of the cruisers, you’re likely to still come out ahead.

Because shipping an assembled bike would be prohibitively expensive, they come disassembled.  What I like about this the most is the opportunity to put the machine together myself, which only increases my appreciation of the bicycle.  It’s too easy to buy an assembled bike at a local store and ride away without even considering that anything might be amiss or incorrectly adjusted.  I enjoy working with my hands and seeing a bunch of parts go together to create something, which is partly why I’ve assembled my last few bikes.  If you have never assembled a bicycle, the people at XYZ have a great step-by-step page that can walk anyone through the process.

So if you’re in the market for an enjoyable bicycle for short term commutes or just a fun ride, take a look at some beach cruiser bikes. You won’t be disappointed.
