I agree. Having a schedule is a great way to keep ourselves focuses and on track. That said, if we don't have any particular goals with a site, then a schedule isn't going to help much

While I might spend more time outside, my intent is for my online activities to maintain a "business as usual" approach. I just have to remember to leave time for it in my day-to-day schedule. That said, having a bit of a scheduled time for it is a great approach rather than just trying to squeeze it in here and there!

Ah, yes ... the "enjoyment factor" strikes again. I'd completely forgotten about that, as many people tend to see blogging as a non-paying job after the first year

Knowing you, your site will become a great site for everyone who's looking to learn something new while having fun. Good luck, and let me know if you need any help

In addition to what you said, I do it because I enjoy it, and I'll do it until I'm satisfied they are complete. At the moment, I've still got a lot of work to do to cover the whole curriculum on one particular website, but when it's finished I hope it will be a favorite among teachers, parents, search engines and sponsors! ;)

I can certainly see that being the case with your educational sites, Nick. How often would kids (or parents) look for tools to help them study during the "off season" ?

If I may ask, what's your reason for building content? Aside from the obvious desire to give existing visitors a reason to come back and a better opportunity with organic search results

School holidays are the big lulls for me, my traffic dives during Christmas and Easter, but picks up again as the kids go back to school. In the past, I've always used holiday periods to build as much content as I can, though that's changed a bit now with my new schedule.
