It's sometimes funny to see just how far gaijin will go to avoid each other. Just this month, which is 8 days old, I've seen people: * move to a different seat on the train * change direction at the grocery store and try to look interested in squid or eel until I've passed * look away in an obvious attempt to "out of sight, out of mind" * give the look of death, because "how dare other gaijin come to Japan" :roll: We sure are a funny bunch of people. In any other country, one group of people will often seek each other out in order to make some friends and feel a little more comfortable in such an alien environment. I think that any foreigner-foreigner friendships must have been set up by a Japanese person, because two foreigner strangers sure as hell aren't talking to each other here...
