August 13th, 2007Reiko And I Are MARRIED!!!
It’s official! Reiko and I are now husband and wife ![]()
Earlier today we received the affidavit required from the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, and soon afterwards we were on our way to Kakamigahara’s city hall. After almost two hours of paperwork, we finished up and walked out as Mr. and Mrs.
We still plan on having our wedding ceremony on May 1st, 2008, and I’ll be sure to post lots of pictures shortly afterwards.

Congratulations!
Thank you
Wow! Congratulations Jason and Reiko!
So, will you consider your wedding anniversary to be August 13th or May 1st? Mami and I registered our wedding just two days before the ceremony, so we count our anniversaries according to the latter. In your case, if you choose August 13th, your first anniversary will fall just three months after your wedding!
Likewise, if you go with May 1st, you would have actually been married longer than your anniversaries suggest! It’s a funny world, isn’t it?
Hmm … we’ll probably go with both dates. An anniversary for the ceremony, and an anniversary for the marriage. This way we can celebrate twice as often
hey congratulations you guys! i’m so happy to hear you are married now. best of wishes to both of you. you are going to be on a natural high for awhile to come!
YAY! Nice. Congrats. $10 of the wedding was my contribuition. So I hoped you enjoy that $10 worth of wine and cake. haha. Best Wishes to you both.

@ Danielle - Hopefully this “natural high” will not fade for a few decades

@ Prija - $10 buys lots of ice cream, which is quite the treat in this heat. I’ll use it to keep Reiko cool
That’s really great! Here’s hoping this represents the start of a wonderful life together for the two of you. I’ll let everyone back in the old country know.
PS: Now - when can we expect to see children…?
Kids are still at least 18 months away as Reiko and I can’t consider such things until after the wedding ceremony this May (9 months until May, 9 months for a child to develop before birth).
Hopefully by then Reiko and I will have our first home, and a steady stream of income
Congratulations buddy:) Here’s to a start of a new life ahead of you!
Yep! Reiko and I have the next 100+ years to look forward to a happy marriage and lots of adventures
Wow. I got worried for a sec that you had the ceremony as well. I see that still in 2008. Maybe I will be able to afford a ticket by then, I’d love to see it. Is it going to be traditional? I am still in WV. I have about 800 pictures I took this past week alone. Maybe I will upload some.
Omedito (not sure of spelling in Romanji here. heh.)

Engaged on Christmas Eve?!?!? What a great way to start the holidays
Congratulations to you, too.
Be sure to check out my image gallery after May 1, as I’ll be posting lots of wedding pictures for people to see and comment on.
